(16-May-2008) - After appearing in Mexico for Dragonmanía III, the Canadian wrestler René Dupree hasn't discounted the possibility of joining the ranks of the World Council of Lucha Libre (CMLL) sometime in the near future.

The former WWE wrestler is reported to be very interested in working in Mexico and, above all, learning the style that's made CMLL famous across the world.

"One of my goals is to be in this company (CMLL) and perform in the famous Arena Mexico. Mexican lucha is recognized globally and every wrestler can learn a great deal from working here," he said.

Another of his goals is to gain the same degree of name recognition in Mexico as compatriots Marco Corleone, Dark Angel and Goddess, whom Mexican fans have taken to their hearts. He would particularly like the opportunity to work with Corleone.

Dupree, also known as René Goguen, has been approached by CMLL managers and while he's in Mexico, hopes to have further talks with the company.

Dupree was surprised to see that lucha is practically a religion in Mexico. He compares it with the passion for Super Bowl or the World Series in the United States.

"In Japan people are very fond of wrestling, but do not live with such a passion for it; in the United States fans are more expressive but mostly prefer baseball and football. All very different from Mexico – out of the arena, out on the streets you see all kinds of souvenirs, clothing and some very impressive merchandising going on," he said.

(16-May-2008).- Después de presentarse en México durante el evento de Dragonmanía, el luchador canadiense René Dupree no descartó la posibilidad de ingresar a las filas del Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) en un futuro cercano.

El ex miembro de la WWE destacó que le interesa mucho incursionar en la lucha libre mexicana y sobre todo aprender la técnica que ha hecho del CMLL una empresa reconocida mundialmente.

"Uno de mis objetivos es estar en esta empresa (CMLL) y sobre todo luchar en la Arena México. La lucha mexicana es reconocida a nivel mundial y cada luchador debe de aprender muchas cosas de acá", explicó.

Otra de sus metas es igualar lo realizado por sus compatriotas Marco Corleone, Dark Angel y Goddess, quienes han entrado por la puerta grande en el gusto del público mexicano, pero sobre todo no duda en poder enfrentar a Corleone.

El también conocido como René Goguen adelantó que ya ha habido acercamientos con los directivos del Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre y que durante los días que esté en México tendrá algunas reuniones más para llegar a un acuerdo.

Dupree se digo sorprendido de que el deporte del catch sea prácticamente una religión en México, y lo compara con la pasión que viven en estados Unidos con un Súper Tazón o una Serie Mundial.

"En Japón la gente es muy aficionada, pero no viven con tanta pasión una función de lucha, son muy secos; en Estados Unidos son más expresivos pero aman más el beisbol y el futbol americano, en cambio en México desde que andas en la calle ves todo tipo de recuerdos, ropa y afuera de las arenas es impresionante la vendimia", exclamó.
